In celebration of our birthday month - God’s Love was founded on May 1st, 1985 - we collaborated with Tony Award Winner Bonnie Milligan, along with Broadway stars Arielle Jacobs, Bradley Gibson, and Zachary Noah Piser to create “Delivering Love,” our latest music video! Our parody of “Seasons of Love” from the legendary musical RENT calls back to the AIDS crisis in New York City, when God’s Love was founded to feed those who were homebound with AIDS. Having grown to cook and home-deliver more than 4 million meals annually, we address over 200 individual diagnoses with our medically tailored meals. Our core commitments have remained at the heart of who we are: delivering meals to everyone who need us, never having a waitlist, and delivering meals the next delivery day. With you and your support, every minute and every season, we are delivering love to our clients and their families. ❤️ Help us deliver love by donating or volunteering today. If you know someone in the NYC area who could benefit from our free, medically tailored meals, please reach out to us at GetMeals@glwd.org. Thank you to our amazing cast, crew, and God's Love staff and volunteers! Meals that heal, delivered with love
About us
God's Love We Deliver is the New York City metropolitan area's leading provider of nutritious, individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. Founded in 1985 when one woman began delivering food on her bicycle to a man dying from AIDS, God's Love now cooks and delivers more than 10,000 meals each weekday, delivering them to clients living with life-altering illnesses in all five boroughs of New York City, Westchester and Nassau Counties, and Hudson County, New Jersey. To date we have delivered over 25 million medically tailored meals. All of our services are provided free of charge to our clients, their children and to the senior caregivers of our senior clients, without regard to income, and we have never maintained a waiting list. Because we believe the combination of hunger and serious illness is a crisis, we deliver food within 24 – 48 hours of first being contacted. God's Love We Deliver is a non-sectarian organization, providing meals with the strong belief of "food as medicine." To that end, we employ a team of registered dietitians who individually tailor meals to each client's specific medical requirements. God's Love provides all services by employing a small but dedicated professional staff and with the critical assistance of over 17,000 volunteers annually.

Bank of America volunteer teams also keep our kitchen running all year round, helping to cook and prepare delicious and life-saving meals for clients with conditions like cancer, COPD, diabetes, and more. Our Manager of Research and Evaluation, Kelly V. Naranjo, recently presented the American Society for Nutrition's annual conference, Nutrition 2024! As God's Love continues to grow and expand our academic partnerships, our incoming clinical trial will examine the effects of medically tailored meals on client health. Collecting client-centered feedback has been a major part of our research efforts; we're grateful for Kelly's work and can't wait for her to present future findings at Nutrition 2025! 🍏
What a true honor to have attended Nutrition 2024. I had such a wonderful time meeting colleagues from University of California, Davis; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); American Heart Association and of course seeing our friends at the The National Institutes of Health Office Nutrition Research. It was genuinely fantastic to talk about our research at God's Love We Deliver; the extensive efforts we have made to ensure we include and collect client-centered feedback; some of our work with our academic partners to build the foundation for our research independence, and how this work is connected to our current submissions, to larger grants and of course our incoming clinical trial. I am excited to share future findings at next year’s conference and in the coming weeks. #nutrition2024 #FoodisMedicine #MedicallyTailoredMeals #HealthEquity

Summer is here, and it’s time to enjoy the rainbow of seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs available in New York City! 🌈 The colors of fruits and vegetables don’t just look pretty, they indicate the presence of different phytonutrients and vitamins, so it’s important to fill half your plate (or snack) with fruits and vegetables, and choose a variety of colors to maximize the benefits. 🍓 🌽 🍇 Read our newest blog post from God's Love RDN, Katie Leonard, MS, RD, CDN about the benefits of eating the rainbow: https://lnkd.in/eEEwPSAX

God’s Love We Deliver is proud to work with Capital One, a true partner in helping to serve and nourish New Yorkers living with life-altering illness. Last week, God’s Love was honored to participate in ‘A Conversation with New York City Community Leaders,’ a special roundtable hosted by Capital One that convened organizations and local leaders across New York City’s nonprofit sector. We greatly appreciate the chance to share challenges, best practices, wins, and big ideas with colleagues at peer organizations meeting the needs of New Yorkers through a range of lenses -- from workforce development and mentorship, to financial counseling and affordable housing. Thank you to William Owh, Priscilla Williams-Chukwu, and the team at Capital One for including us in the conversation! And, a special thanks to the Capital One volunteers who came to the God’s Love kitchen this past week to help us to prepare the more than 15,000 meals that we cook and package every day. You make it possible for us to provide life-sustaining support for our clients! 🙌 #CapitalOne #Volunteer
