We treated our associates to refreshing gelato from Via Gelato at our Summer Scoop Social last week. In addition to enjoying their frozen desserts, associates played games, dreamt up new ice cream flavors, won prizes, and walked away with some free FICOH merch!

Last week, our Tokio Marine expats Taki Anzai, Ken Kamoda, and Tatsu Fujimoto led a Japanese Cultural Class to teach us more about their home country. The session was attended by more than 100 associates in person and virtually and was filled with valuable information, including Japan’s history and culture, and the dos and don’ts of business etiquette. Thanks to their intelligence and humor, the class was both educational and fun. We appreciate the time and thought they put into their presentation and look forward to part 2!

It’s #NationalInsuranceAwarenessDay! At FICOH, we want to make insurance accessible and engaging to everyone. In early 2024, we launched an Instagram video series teaching insurance basics using two digital characters in comic-style episodes. In honor of #GlobalWellnessMonth, we received exclusive #TMWalkstheWorld hats to keep us cool during our summer quarterly walk. Our Ward Ave associates proudly sported their new hats during our midday walk to the State Capitol and back.

FICOH joined Walk Wise Hawaii at the Hawaii Active Seniors Expo to educate seniors about the importance of being visible when walking between dusk and dawn -- which is the most dangerous time to be a pedestrian. We spoke with kūpuna and their family members about their pedestrian habits, led them in taking the Walk Wise pledge, and passed out reflective wristbands to help them be seen at night. For nearly 15 years, Walk Wise Hawaii has been committed to making Hawaii safer for pedestrians. Mahalo, Walk Wise Hawaii!
