Sports: they’re beloved pastimes, lively competitive events, and a way to change young lives. In Atlanta, C.J. and Kelli Stewart founded the LEAD Center For Youth in 2007 to empower an at-risk generation to lead and transform our city. Through baseball and tennis, L.E.A.D. teaches Black youth how to overcome three curveballs that threaten their success: crime, poverty, and racism. “Atlanta’s vulnerable youth need to have the right social, emotional, and mental capacity to handle all the things being thrown at them,” said Kelli, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, “and that’s what L.E.A.D. offers: a solution where sports are a fun, active, effective means to a life built on integrity, character, service, leadership, and promise.” Read more about this game-changing nonprofit in our #StoriesofImpact series: https://lnkd.in/eFBjpMfm

120-year-old nonprofit A.G. Rhodes recently opened its new skilled nursing and memory care community, including a 75,000-square-foot “household-model” building designed for 72 residents living with dementia, plus renovation of its existing building with 58 residents, on its campus in Marietta. This location is designed to be a model that other nursing homes can use to convert double rooms to private rooms, enhance a person-centered model of care, and prepare for potential infectious disease outbreaks. When A.G. Rhodes was ready to bring this $37.5 million project to life through their first-ever capital campaign, we were proud to help them take this big leap forward. Congratulations! 

Supplies are unpacked, workstations are set up, the new coffee machine is plugged in��and we’re fully up and running on the 40th floor! We had a great time last week welcoming our team back for in-person collaboration in our beautiful new space. Day 1 festivities included a few gifts featuring our new brand, plus a belated celebration of this year’s March Madness trophy winner.

With that in mind, we’re excited to announce Alisan Abercrombie's promotion to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. Ali joined the firm in 2012 and has been a key member of our senior leadership team, overseeing Advancement Services and driving innovation across the firm. We believe in a high-touch, high-standard, high-performing approach to doing business—and doing good—and Ali will make sure our core values stay at the forefront of our work. She’ll continue to provide principal counsel to clients as a Managing Director while investing in our people, processes, and products. Moving office spaces gave us the chance to partner with local nonprofits in a whole new way. In our effort to divert as much from the landfill as possible, we brought 50 cardboard boxes and 15 bags of Styrofoam to Live Thrive, Inc to be recycled. And thanks to our friends at Historic Oakland Foundation, Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta, and Terra School at Serenbe portions of our office furniture, workstation equipment, paper supplies, and kitchen furnishings have found a new home—and purpose.

Coxe Curry is on the move! Settling into our new suite on the 40th floor of 191 Peachtree has been a real “all hands on deck” project—with plenty of laughs alongside the heavy lifts. We welcome our staff back for in-person collaboration later this week and can’t wait to soon share our new space with clients, guests, and friends, too!

Our team is the heart of our company and the work we do, and last week we had the extra special chance to celebrate Pat Clarke’s 35th anniversary with the firm. We gathered with Pat and her family at her favorite restaurant, Paschal’s, for a luncheon filled with tributes, walks down memory lane, a few happy tears, and plenty of laughter. From Pat’s incredible editing and proofreading skills (she earned the nickname “Grammar Girl” for a reason!) to her trustworthy, steadfast presence in our office, we all agree: she is without a doubt part of what makes Coxe Curry such a special place to be.
