Employing Communities, Restoring Lives.

About us

Employing Communities. Restoring Lives. Our Mission: Cincinnati Works will partner with all willing and capable people living in poverty to assist them in advancing to economic self-sufficiency through employment. Our Vision: We will lead the effort to eliminate poverty in our community. Cincinnati Works serves two clients: those individuals in the community who are currently unemployed or underemployed and Employers who have entry level positions. The short-term goal for the unemployed is to help them stabilize in a job that pays a living wage with health benefits. The long-term goal for the underemployed is for them to earn 200% of the federal poverty rate and move to economic self-sufficiency. Economically self-sufficient people become taxpayers and productive citizens who no longer require public assistance. As a primarily privately-funded organization, we are able to serve any willing and capable job seekers who are eligible for our program. We are able to serve those who would otherwise be ineligible for other programs (e.g. men, women without dependent children and women without children). Our clients become Members of the Cincinnati Works program and receive lifetime Membership for as long as they are employed or actively seeking work. There is no cost to become an Employer or Member and our services are free for both Employers & Members. Proud to be a United Way Agency Partner.

Thank you for your support and partnership. Together we can make a difference in the lives of people in construction related careers.

Cincinnati Works connects people with jobs to achieve self-sufficiency and assists employers in filling roles and coaching employees. They provide job readiness training and create a pool of high-quality candidates, vetting and matching them with businesses. Their innovative onsite workforce coaching aids employee retention and professional growth. Their new Next Generation Program introduces young adults to construction careers before high school graduation, providing early exposure to skilled trades opportunities. We're excited to see Cincinnati Works as they foster workforce development in Greater Cincinnati and continue impacting construction-related careers in our area.

Congratulations to last week's Jump Start graduates! We are incredibly proud of you! Job Readiness is a core program at Cincinnati Works, designed to help our Members step back, identify their strengths and skills, and move forward with clear goals and a solid strategy. For most Members, Job Readiness begins with a three-day Jump Start workshop. Here, they learn employer expectations, define their professional strengths, and practice showcasing those strengths in mock interviews. Way to go, graduates! Your journey to success is just beginning!
