    Until next year, #SXSW! We closed out our time in Austin honing in on how we can appeal to audiences with new storytelling and content tactics. It all comes to life by championing a more intentional approach to proactive, playful #creativity in such an everchanging environment. 1. Creativity starts from WITHIN! Agencies and brand teams need to create an environment that encourages originality and removes the stigmas around failure. We must give our people time to ideate without boundaries with a mantra of “suspend reality for 30 minutes and see what happens.” 2. Elevate your teams' wins! It is inevitable that some ideas won't work, but when they do, champion those wins to your whole team and assess how/why they succeeded. 3. Trust in your team! If you do the work upfront to establish guidelines, take the extra step by making a decision tree. This will give your creative team the autonomy and room to play in line with those guidelines. 4. Unleash the power of creators! When working with creators, we must encourage their creative autonomy. Not only will the work be more highly received and rewarded by consumers, but a mutually quality relationship between creator the brand teams will also unlock effective concepts in the future. #CheilDallas

    Well, what did #CheilDallas learn from this weekend's panels at the action-packed #SXSW? 1. We are #GenT. Everyone alive today is part of the transition generation. We are all experiencing a significant change in technology together with AI as the "everything engine." It will be embedded into everything we do, especially as we enter into a stage of "face supremacy" where companies fight to learn and train on intention using our faces. 2. Unhappiness has skyrocketed over the last 20 years, which means consumers are dedicating more of their purchasing power towards brand and products that allow them to find happiness. While brands usually can’t solve the "happiness problem," they can serve as consumers' true allies. Brands can show the “full-lifestyle picture”, allowing people to feel seen and in turn, reward with spending power, loyalty and advocacy. 3. #Metaverse had previously taken a backseat to #AI, but it might be making a comeback. Companies like Ready Player One are all soon to launch their flagship experience, which will bring a fully immersive, multi-mode gaming experience integrated with various top tier IP. 4. More than ever, the adoption curve and hype cycle do not align. Intrinsic value matters more than surviving past a moment in time. People are wired to follow “hype” due to a subliminal belief that there is a better solution out there to any problem. For that reason, we find ourselves blindly following trends before it proves its value. As we heard in the panel, “the hype cycle is like a rollercoaster that can eject you at any moment.” 5. The purchase funnel has evolved and is now far from a linear process. The funnel was built for product discovery, but digital connection has changed how people are introduced to new things. We live in a world where the relationship with consumers can now start with purchase due to impulse buying, the instate gratification culture, and overall digital availability. #SXSW2024

    Day 1 at #SXSW was incredible! In addition to rubbing elbows with celebrities like Katie Couric and Meghan Markle on #InternationalWomensDay, #CheilDallas had the privilege of learning from some amazing speakers and taking away four very important themes. 1. We're all having fun with #AI, but there are so many issues like bias and copyright infringement to work through. Though it's going to take a long time to determine the answers, the key question for us to answer right now is "How can I make the use of AI really valuable?" 2. Psychology is the future of #Robotics. Instead of holding these AI-enabled robots to unachievable standards, we must hold them to the standards of humans. 3. #GenerativeAI is here and we're embedding it anywhere there's an interface. However, research indicates there is a 4-5X higher carbon footprint of an AI prompt than a search engine query. For any game-changing AI apps on the way, it will be imperative to apply sustainability ethical practices. 4. Brand "authenticity" and "empathy" have moved far past buzz words. As consumers digest advertising while seeking a FULL range of multi-faceted human emotion from brands, it has never been more important to provide authentically positive intention across all brand actions. Brands cannot stand out without truly bold messaged that is backed by action, and then followed through with purposeful #storytelling.
