Last month, Canopy Farm Management announced the launch of Canopy Compass, a web-based, crop suitability mapping and farm analysis tool developed in partnership with the Savanna Institute. You can explore this tool for yourself at https://lnkd.in/gMbAaqh6 "Our mission is to catalyze the development and adoption of resilient, scalable agroforestry," said Monika Shea, PhD, Landscape Ecologist at the Savanna Institute. "After four years of research and analysis, we are thrilled to make this data widely accessible. The maps will inform planning and decision making at multiple scales, supporting the success of agroforestry tree and shrub plantings and all the associated positive economic and environmental outcomes."

Today, we are excited to announce the launch of Canopy Compass, a web-based crop suitability mapping and farm analysis tool built to support farmers' transition to regenerative agriculture. With this tool, farmers and landowners all over the U.S. can assess which perennial crops are most suitable for their land. The site currently has data on 20 perennial crops. We will continually add new crops over time! This has been an incredible effort, in partnership with the Savanna Institute, to harness the most comprehensive and scientifically robust crop suitability data available today across over 90 maps and a dozen sources. Tree crops and perennials are a long-term investment. Canopy Compass can help farmers make data-driven decisions to help secure a successful future for their land, contributing to broader catalyzation of more sustainable agriculture practices on U.S. farmland. Interested in learning more? Map your farm and see the possibilities at CanopyCompass.com or get in touch with us at Compass@CanopyFM.com.

“If you believe that trees are part of the solution in agriculture, then we’re going to need the equipment and people and expertise to make that happen. We’re going to need a Canopy.” -Kevin Wolz As we work through our third tree planting season, we're taking a moment to reflect on our journey, which began with the Savanna Institute. We now have hubs in Champaign, IL and Spring Green, WI, and serve farmers and landowners interested in growing tree crops and implementing diverse agroforestry and conservation practices on their land. We're looking forward to sharing more exciting updates from this season with you soon! https://lnkd.in/gDMCvh6Y
