Optimizing the lives of people living with cancer | FREE experiential programs, financial assistance, emotional support
About us
For 50 years, Cancer Lifeline has been dedicated to providing free support and services to cancer patients and their loved ones. Our mission is to optimize the quality of life for all people living with cancer, and all of our programs are based on the needs of people living with cancer. We offer people choices and information, and encourage them to take control. We stress inclusion rather than isolation. Most of all, we provide the environment where cancer patients and their families have the freedom to express feelings without being judged. We do this through more than 800 free classes, support groups and workshops in nutrition, exercise and artistic expression, direct financial assistance to low income people with cancer, and our telephone Lifeline (1-800-255-5505). One out of three people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, and we are unique in the region as one of the only organizations providing these vital services. We are governed by a board of 20+ and employ a staff of 10 at our headquarters near Greenlake in Seattle, Washington.

Cancer Lifeline reposted this
🚨The Ways and Means Committee has announced a markup to advance H.R. 2407! 🚨 This is a huge step in the right direction for coverage of #MCED tests. Thank you Rep. Terri Sewell, Rep. Jodey Arrington and the entire committee for your leadership. Now let’s get this bill through committee! Learn more about #MCED: https://lnkd.in/g3tQ9nFW
More than half of both chambers of Congress have cosponsored the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare #MCED Screening Coverage Act. These groundbreaking tests can improve early cancer detection and treat it more effectively. But we can’t let the opportunity to advance this legislation pass by. The Prevent Cancer Foundation is proud to stand with more than 500 advocacy groups supporting this impactful legislation. 👉 https://lnkd.in/exNgz_Ge Interested in joining our efforts?
