Employees took a break yesterday to mingle with one another at our trail mix bar. They also had the opportunity to join Chef Brandon, our Milwaukee employee cafeteria head chef, in a knife skills demonstration to learn how to prep food safely in their home kitchens. It's important to take time to socialize during the busy workweek and catch up with colleagues old and new! Guiding the expansion and continuous product improvement effort during this period were Chairman Fred Stratton and CEO Vince Shiely. Their leadership was instrumental in introducing significant improvements including Easy-Spin® starting, Lo-Tone™ mufflers, and an automatic choke and starter. Briggs & Stratton also diversified its product lines to cater to the growing marketplace, introducing the Quiet Power engine, the opposed-twin engine, and the I/C® family of engines. The Briggs & Stratton Racing team, led by Dan Roche, showed off our racing engines at Summerfest yesterday. They welcomed kids of all ages to sit in a kart and heard several stories from festgoers about their own kart racing experiences and how our engines power their passions. The Briggs & Stratton racing division has been building racing engines in Milwaukee, WI, since 2000. It was wonderful to partner with United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County for the fourth year to offer free admission to Summerfest!
