We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jack Harrell Jr., a cherished leader, mentor, and friend. Jack was known for his philanthropic spirit, faith, and dedication to our community. Alongside his wife Tina, Jack's generosity has touched countless lives and supported numerous causes throughout Lakeland. Jack's dedication to Bonnet Springs Park is truly remarkable. A strong belief in the mission led him and Tina to be among the founding donors and they have been part of our journey since the beginning. He was instrumental in our capital campaign, and his leadership as Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee has been invaluable. The generous contributions to name The Harrell Family Botanical Gardens, Harrell Family Greenhouse, and sponsorship of agronomic supplies all stand as a testament to his profound impact on our Park. We are forever grateful for Jack's contributions and the lasting mark he has left on our community. The BSP team had a fantastic time at Planet Philanthropy 2024! Annually, over 300 nonprofit leaders from diverse sectors such as social services, education, health, religion, the arts, and more, come together to explore resources and enhance their skills. We’re excited for many more years of learning, engaging, and making a difference!

We recently joined the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce and couldn’t be more excited! We look forward to connecting with new and familiar faces in our community.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our interns from this semester, Maja, Olivia, and Justin! They have left a lasting impact on our Field Trips and Education Programs. Each intern completed a project about the unique birds, aquatic life, gardens, and trails Bonnet Springs Park as well as led hundreds of students on field trips. Maja, Justin, and Olivia, we are thankful for your commitment and dedication to education at BSP. We can't wait to see where you go next!
