We successfully tested the rapid retract system yesterday, simulating disconnect during a New Glenn launch. The retract system ensures the transporter erector is quickly positioned away from New Glenn at liftoff to provide flyout clearance. We’ve been out on the pad testing since late May and plan to roll back to the integration facility in a few days.

We are celebrating the renaissance of Test Stand 4670! NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration built the towering structure in 1965 to help power the first missions to the Moon. Now under lease to Blue Origin, the revitalized test stand has surpassed 200 rocket engine hot fire tests in its lifetime, and is still going strong. NASA Chief Historian Brian Odom said: “Test Stand 4670 is an excellent example of how our current space program stands on the shoulders of the past. Congrats to Blue Origin for bringing our history alive while making some of its own!” From the archives, check out the test stand in its early days: https://lnkd.in/eqM-5eAC

We’re celebrating the 200th hotfire test at NASA’s Historic Test Stand 4670 in Huntsville, Alabama, built in 1965. This milestone includes 89 tests that spanned the Apollo, Shuttle, and Atlas programs and the 111th test of our BE-3U and BE-4 engines – and we continue to test more and more each week. We are honored to continue NASA's legacy. Thank you, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Team Redstone and the Rocket City community!
