This Saturday is our first Teddy Bear Surgery of the summer and we still have plenty of room for sign-ups! This completely free event is ideally suited for kids 10 and under and is a chance to let their imaginations run wild. Bring your favorite stuffed animal for a visit to the AHS animal clinic to meet with one of our "veterinarians" for a check-up. School's out for the summer which means that the Austin Humane Society Summer Kids Series is back! This year we'll be offering sessions throughout June and July for our Humane Heros to visit AHS and learn more about what we do. Every session includes animal interactions and is both educational and fun! The vast majority of the sessions are completely free and we have a variety of offerings for kids of all ages. This month we are excited to be teaming up with We Are Blood in the Giving Double campaign! Kip is looking for a hero. At only 2 years old Kip was diagnosed with congestive heart failure due to a heart malformation. Meeting Kip, you'd never know he was sick, as he loves to go on walks, play, and cuddle. We are looking for a semi-long-term foster for Kip while we continue to work on fine-tuning his medications to keep him comfortable. As part of Petco Love's National Foster a Pet Month, we aim to ensure animals like Kip spend more time in loving foster homes and less time in kennels at the shelter. Kip gets along with other dogs, has medium energy, and has nice house manners. He says no cats please, but other than that he's not too picky about his foster home! Have room for Kip to join you?
