You must determine the priorities of your business and ensure that the supplier commits to said priorities in writing. For the next meeting, demand that everything be in writing. Should your vendor refuse then schedule the next meeting to start after you meet his biggest competitor. It is great always to have their competitor coming out of your office while they are waiting to get in. Make it the CEO of the competitor walking out of your office. Now that encounter, within 48 hours of it ending, will cause magical things to happen with a vendor who actually takes all day to answer a simple email!

You need to establish what your company priorities are and ensure that the vendor commits to those priorities in writing. Unless this is established up front there is continuing risk that the company priorities will not be addressed by the vendor. It is always a good idea to tie your company priorities to future revenue opportunities for the vendor. If the vendor will not commit in writing then schedule the next meeting to start after you meet with their largest competitor. It is always great to have their competitor coming out of your office while they are waiting to enter. Make sure it is the competitor’s CEO coming out of your office. Magically things will happen with your existing vendor within 48 hours after that encounter.
