Breaking new ground state side. #JCB are thrilled to announce work has begun on a new $500 million factory in San Antonio, Texas. “Texas is an obvious choice for our new North American manufacturing facility, not least because the State is the largest consumer of construction equipment in the USA. San Antonio is also the logical choice as a location for our new factory because of its central location, proximity to the supply chain and great local labour force. We are really excited about JCB’s new San Antonio factory and for the future of our business in North America,” said Richard Fox-Marrs, CEO of JCB North America, on the building of the new factory which will create 1,500 new jobs over five years. Claire Coutinho MP, Energy Secretary, visited #JCB Headquarters to see the progress of decarbonising construction and agricultural equipment with #hydrogen combustion technology. More than 150 engineers are developing hi-tech hydrogen combustion engines for JCB machinery, and more than 120 engines have been produced so far. “I’m so optimistic, not just about what it can do when it comes helping us cut emissions, but also the jobs it can create. The places around the country that’s going to open up new opportunities so it’s fantastic to see and I’m really, really proud of all the work that we’re doing in Britain today,” Claire Coutinho MP, Energy Secretary, on #JCB’s hydrogen technology.
