About
I have been the Chair of the Board of Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals FT for nearly nine years, and I remain in this role, having earlier completed a thirty nine year (first) career in the emergency services, concluding as Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
But I do retain a 'foot in the fire world" in several ways. Importantly, I am Expert Witness to the Grenfell Tower Fire Public Inquiry, but I am also the Executive Officer to the Fire Sector Federation.
I am involved in several charities aligned to my position as a Deputy Lieutenant (DL) for Greater Manchester and, in that capacity, I also assess voluntary organisations for the Kings Award for Voluntary Services (KAVS).
Finally I am a strategic board adviser to the Leadership College for Government.
