  • At our US Pumps facility in Fresno, California, we’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency in our products. Recently, our Quality department dedicated a week to observing the WSP assembly processes. During this extensive quality workshop, we captured the assembly line process and utilized AI to create detailed training videos. This approach has significantly enhanced our training resources, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained across the board. We look forward to continued collaboration and growth utilizing this adaptive technology. #Innovation #AI #QualityControl #Training #USPumps #Teamwork #ContinuousImprovement

  • Trillium Flow Technologies has a long track record of supplying control and choke valves to the offshore oil and gas industry, including solutions for the most critical and severe services. One such application that requires particularly careful selection is MEG (Monoethylene Glycol) or chemical injection pump recirculation valves. While the valves utilized in this application tend to be small (1”-2”), the application presents significant challenges both in terms of high-pressure drop, which can be as much as 800 Barg for HPHT Gas fields, and the requirement for precise control requirements at very low flowrates. If not properly controlled, the small flow rates with very high-pressure drops can cause issues with erosion, vibration, or pressure fluctuations in small bore pipework, which in some cases can lead to a trip of the injection pump. Conventional cage or disc stack trims, which might normally be utilized for high-pressure drop services, are not suitable for all injection applications due to the inherent annular clearance between the plug and cage and resultant clearance flow, which limits the rangeability of control. Trillium has successfully deployed multi-stage spline trims in the most severe injection applications where the plug and seat are manufactured with a gravity slide fit to almost completely eliminate any clearance flow and give a rangeability in the region of 100:1 depending on selected CV; this is important to ensure the trim can control all provided operating scenarios including start-up cases. These trims can be manufactured from Solid Stellite, Tungsten Carbide or even Ceramic depending on the application, all material selections eliminate the potential for galling with the number of pressure drop stages carefully selected to handle the pressure drop. The valves can be supplied in both globe and angle configuration, in cast and forged materials to ASME B16.34 or API6A design specification The selection of actuation and instruments is also crucial in this application; as you are dealing with a very small capacity trim, it is inevitable that the valve travel will be relatively short; the actuator must be selected to provide rigidity, very accurate control, and tight shut off as the valve have to close against full pump pressure at the inlet and near atmospheric pressure at the outlet. In some cases where positive displacement pumps are used, the flow can be subject to pressure pulsations. This can be overcome by using more pistons in the pump to reduce pulsations or using a pulsation damper in the system, but it is also important to consider pressure balancing of the trim and actuator rigidity if pressure pulsations are likely. If you need MEG injection valves for your upcoming project, we can provide guidance to ensure the correct valve is specified for the application. • Aluminum bronze and super duplex are used extensively in seawater applications due to their exceptional corrosion resistance. The photo here shows a 10-inch aluminum bronze valve with monel trim that has just passed the hydrostatic test. Our highly engineered valves are known to be durable, long-lasting, and field-proven in the most severe conditions. • A longtime customer asked for a pump identical to and interchangeable with a previous pump Trillium had supplied several years ago. This pump joined the other AHP API 610 BB3 11-stage pumps already installed and operating in critical service in their large plant in the Middle East. • Gas pressure reduction in an offshore environment poses many issues when selecting a control valve. Overall, if the gas is clean, it will not erode the trim components; however, if the pressure reduction process is not adequately controlled, it could cause high noise and vibration levels. The plugs shown here are in the initial stages of assembly, with the stem installed and pinned but prior to the seals being inserted. What makes these trims slightly more unusual is that they are designed for a high-rangeability application with a wide range of process conditions requiring accurate control at low openings. The plug has, therefore, been designed with special clearances and an articulated nose. To learn more about our control valve product offering, head to our website: https://okt.to/hpvcEb

  • Our Valves USA facility in Ipswich continues to support Trillium’s sustainability initiative through continuous collaboration with TerraCycle, an innovative recycling company that recycles typically hard-to-recycle waste. Valves USA continues to focus on reducing waste where possible and finding innovative solutions during that process. Ipswich began its journey with TerraCycle in 2022 when it initiated personal protective equipment (PPE) recycling boxes and cigarette waste recycling. To date, Valves USA has sent 118 lbs of PPE and 7.65 lbs of cigarette waste to TerraCycle for recycling.
