We wanted to capture Opill®’s role in reshaping the roadblocks to reproductive health via a meaningful brand language that breaks free from the norms of traditional healthcare design. Opill®’s visual identity revolves around its O-shaped brandmark, becoming a beacon for protection: a motif that speaks to Opill®’s simplicity, convenience, and ease of use. Reinventing traditional industry standards, the colour palette features a background of modern teal alongside pops of coral, lilac, orange, blush and yellow that appear in free-form shapes. Paired with a dark blue typeface that references classic Rx language, it was crucial to underpin Opill®’s efficacy as a daily contraceptive. Together, the effect is a visual metaphor for the arcs of the world around us and Opill®’s steady presence within that. Opill®’s font was selected due to its open and round typeface; building the sense of a brand that is warm and approachable. We wanted Opill®’s identity to convey the product’s sense of freedom, offering millions of Americans access to effective contraception on their terms and without having to navigate additional barriers. Reshaping the parameters of women and people's health with Opill®.   For the first time ever, women in America are able to purchase a birth control pill over the counter without a prescription, marking a landmark moment in US history. As the first product of its kind in a newly competitive landscape, Perrigo enlisted our help to create and bring the visual identity for Opill® to life. When we partnered with the Place2Be team to deliver a visual identity for the 2024 'Arts & Minds' Gala Dinner, we started with a pencil - the universal symbol of creativity, crafting a visual lock up of the ‘A’ & ‘M’ that ties the identity together through mark-making and visual expression. From hand-crafted illustrations representing the world of creativity the arts unlocks, to child-like doodles and patterns that act as a backdrop to photography; the pencil’s reference as a shorthand for creativity and the arts is brought to life across various touchpoints, both print and digital, showcasing its endless potential for expressiveness. It was important that the identity also took inspiration from this year’s venue and all its history, including a devastating fire in 2015 that left most of Battersea Arts Centre severely damaged. A single sign which survived became our source of inspiration as the holding shape, which we evolved into a visual frame device to house photography or create a visual border for pattern. Our help was enlisted to translate the Place2Be aim of shining a light on art as a powerful creative tool to talk about mental health openly across a bespoke identity system which also drew inspiration from this year’s Arts & Minds Gala Dinner venue – the Battersea Arts Centre. With a career spanning 20 years at the forefront of brand strategy and design, Emma joins Elmwood from Dragon Rouge, where she was NY Managing Director. Prior to that, she held high-profile roles as Business Director at WPP's Design Bridge and Partners, and was Vice President at Kantar Consulting. Emma's leadership experience has seen her partner with multinational clients such as Diageo, Mondelēz, LifeScan and Reckitt to drive customer acquisition and the delivery of award-winning creative projects. We’re thrilled to share our work for Place2Be. 💙   Marking its 30th anniversary, children’s mental health charity Place2Be inspires in its core mission to provide mental health access and support to children and young people across the UK.
