Big update from me! After 2 years at Vira Health, today I am beginning my new role at Birdie. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for my time at Vira. When Andrea Berchowitz and Dr Rebecca Love interviewed me for the role, I told them that the main thing I wanted - however long I stayed at the company - was to leave a very different person than the one I was coming in. I’m confident that I’ve done that. I’ve only ever worked in pretty early stage startups. They’re amazing. They’ve taught me to be comfortable in the unknown, the value of fostering strong relationships, and they’ve given me opportunities that would take years in larger companies. However, looking for my new role made me realise that there’s a flip side. You may have many unique opportunities, but you also might miss out on some of those more quantifiable things: “proven track record of X target” and “2 years experience with Y process”. Happily, my new role fosters both sides. Startup culture at the core, but with the opportunity to work as part of a larger team, with a different style of accountability. Thank you so much to the wonderful Vira Team, and to my Stella for menopause clients. Working in menopause has been amazing, and now it’s on to in-home care for older adults!

The past few days at Birdie have been hard to fathom... 🐦 On Friday, I was awarded '𝑩𝒊𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌' on our company wide call, something I had hoped to win since joining. 🏆 Yesterday, I was awarded '𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝑫𝑹' at our Q3 Sales Kick Off, closing the Quarter at 142% of target. 🏆x2 I was also awarded '𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔’ 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆' at the Kick Off. So yeah, it's been a crazy few days! 😂 It's always reassuring to see your efforts translate into results, especially in a new industry. We go again.

Earlier this year I had the privilege of hosting a session at the Care Show in London to host a panel session for Birdie to gain a understanding of their 'village of care' model. Could Birdie’s new approach be the breakthrough solution we’ve been waiting for? I personally feel this concept is something that I feel is truly achievable for us working in social care to make a reality. In an exclusive interview with Birdie’s CEO Max Parmentier and community lead Lucy Rollinson-Ogilvie, Home Care Insight dive deeper to find out how Birdie’s concept of a ‘Village of Care’ and its latest platform, Flock, empower care providers to shape the future themselves. Read the full idea and article here, but let me know your thoughts in the comments below: https://lnkd.in/eYVDmnCg #SocialCare #Care #VillageOfCare
