We had the honor of meeting Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, at a partnership event for agribusiness market participants, organized by NIBULON. The event brought together the entire vertical of market players, from small and medium-sized producers to the legislative authorities, to discuss plans and tasks for the current marketing year and to summarize the season's results. 👉"I want to thank our agrarians, who, despite numerous challenges and sometimes life-threatening conditions, continue to work, sow, and harvest crops, ensuring both domestic and global food security. This strengthens the agricultural sector and our economy. Currently, there are several government programs to support the agricultural sector. In the Government, we are working on new assistance programs for agrarians, attracting additional funding from international partners. The main task is to support agricultural producers in de-occupied, front-line, and active combat areas," emphasized Taras Vysotskyi. Over 40 farm enterprises from the southern region were invited to the event to communicate with the leading producers of agricultural machinery, equipment, and seeds, and to find common ground for future cooperation. The agricultural producers also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with sustainable production practices presented by @Oleg Veselov, Director of Agricultural Production. 👉"The key principle of agricultural production in our company is frugality with a smart approach to farming. We can clearly state that, with modern approaches, it is possible to achieve profitability of agricultural production even during the war. To increase direct profitability, the company, with the support of partners, has invested €12.8 million (for April 2024) in the modernization of agricultural production, which allows us to increase efficiency and reduce costs," said Oleg Veselov. NIBULON, proud of its cooperation with more than 2,660 agricultural producers, continues to feed the world together with them despite the circumstances. In the 2023/24 marketing year, export volume reached 3.236 million tons of grain shipped to 20 countries worldwide. On July 10, NIBULON's Voznesenska branch hosted a partnership event for Ukrainian agricultural market participants. The event was aimed at bringing together partners whose joint efforts in the 2023/24 marketing year had a direct impact on Ukraine's ability to continue feeding the world during the war.   On this day, about 100 distinguished guests visited NIBULON's production site, including representatives of the government, foreign embassies, businesses, financial institutions, and international donor organizations.    During the official part, Andriy Vadaturskyy, CEO of NIBULON, addressed the partners and said:   👉"The main achievement of NIBULON over the two and a half years of the full-scale invasion is that the company continues to operate despite the numerous damages inflicted by Russia. Let me remind you that today NIBULON represents 32% of the company's capacities as of 2022, when elevators were destroyed, grain was stolen, and logistics on the Dnipro was disrupted, etc.   Today, we have invited you to thank each of you for your resilience, leadership, and partnership, which enable us to continue feeding the world together. Now, as the harvesting and procurement campaigns have begun, the extension of the maturity date will allow agricultural producers to receive a fair price for the grain grown under extremely difficult conditions on time. This, in turn, will ensure the winter crops sowing campaign next year." 👉"Completion of the restructuring of the PXF, being one of the main facilities financing export activities of NIBULON, is an important milestone for the company on the way towards finalization of its restructuring program. ✅𝗡𝗜𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗢𝗡 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 The first to start harvesting wheat and rapeseed were the agrarians of our Mykolaiv cluster, specifically Snihurivska and Prybuzhanivska branches. Other branches located further north will start the harvesting campaign soon. This year, 13,500 hectares of early grain crops are to be harvested on NIBULON's fields. Prior to the start of the harvesting campaign, the company carried out thorough preparatory work, taking into account potential force majeure such as the vagaries of the weather. Thus, when the wheat in the southern part of Mykolaiv region ripened a week earlier than the average annual indicators due to drought, the company's engineering service was ready and managed to prepare the harvesting equipment. Thanks to timely actions, the entire complex of harvesting operations is currently being conducted on time and in an organized manner. At the same time, the preparation of the soil for the winter crops sowing has begun. It is also worth highlighting the complete readiness of NIBULON's agricultural machinery fleet for the harvesting campaign. This year, 10 newly acquired CLAAS combines from the leading German manufacturer are participating in it. In total, 20 of the company's own combines and 7 grain carts are involved in the harvesting in the south. Thanks to the coordinated work of the logistics department, fast and high-quality transportation of grain from the field to the company's own elevators is organized. Up to 60 grain trucks with trailers are involved in this process, 13 of which have been handed over to NIBULON by the USAID Economic Resilience Activity (ERA). This book reflects the Ukrainian perspective on the history of the Black Sea from the 13th century BC to 2022. 👆One of its key chapters is dedicated to NIBULON, a company that has always struggled to keep Ukraine a maritime state and has made a significant contribution to the development of shipping and shipbuilding. The company has been developing its own fleet and internal logistics for more than 10 years🚢⚓ Even now, in times of war, we provide work to the famous shipbuilders of Mykolaiv and take care of maritime traditions and historical heritage, including through specialized literature. Anton Sanchenko's book is a worthy record of NIBULON's remarkable legacy, and we gladly supported this initiative 🤝   Anton Sanchenko, author of the book "On the Black Sea Wave. 33 Centuries of the Dug Sea", 👉"NIBULON greatly contributed to the publication of the book. When I arrived in Mykolaiv in 2022, despite the ongoing shelling, the company organized a tour of NIBULON Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard, and Serhii Kalkutin, the head of the logistics department, told me the company's history, particularly from the perspective of the development of shipping. This development was especially significant against the backdrop of the decline of all other Ukrainian shipping companies, such as Black Sea Shipping Company and Ukrrichflot, during that time. To me, NIBULON represents the impulse of renewal, which Ukrainians have had to undertake over and over again for thousands of years. It is difficult to find a house (or an elevator) older than 100 years in Ukraine. Now we understand why. The same goes for shipping on the Dnipro River. We once again need to restore it. The key is to make it better than before, as NIBULON can do. I knew that the book needed to end with a positive (successful) example, so I chose the story of NIBULON for this purpose. The sudden death of Oleksiy Vadaturskyy and the rescue of the company by Andriy Vadaturskyy, responses to all wartime challenges, demining of land, and transfer of grain flows to the Danube only confirmed my choice. I repeat a phrase from the book that, unfortunately, became a reality: 'If Oleksiy Opanasovych needed to build a dam on the Dnipro to increase crop yields, NIBULON would have built it. ✅𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗡𝗜𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗢𝗡'𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗜𝗜𝗜 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘇𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 SEFOR Solutions, s.r.o. This tracking and localization system is a mobile solution for the management and coordination of operational groups in the field. The pTRACK ІІІ system tracks the movement of the demining team, stores object location history in the map application, which is very important when detecting explosive ordnance. The system also allows for quick decision-making and effective coordination of demining operations, monitoring the safety of the deminer. The pTRACK ІІІ is designed to operate in the harshest working conditions while providing accurate data on search areas and two-way transmission of warning signals between a control point and a search team. The pTRACK ensures minimal positional deviation (+/-1 m) and rapid refresh rate of location data (2 s). Importantly, the system can relay connections between unit leaders and subordinates in challenging terrain, storing all data on a USB flash drive in case of connection loss. Jakub Haluska, a representative of SEFOR Solutions, noted that this tracking system is used by the police, rescue teams, and the personal security of the President of the Czech Republic; it has proven its effectiveness in practice, 👉“We want to support NIBULON in its demining initiative in Ukraine, so we decided to provide our latest pTRACK III tracking system as humanitarian aid. We believe that peace will soon come to Ukraine, and we are doing everything to make Ukrainian land safe.” Head of NIBULON’s demining department, @Maksym Sovietkin, thanked the Czech partners for the much-needed assistance and emphasized, 👉"This GPS system makes it possible to determine the location of objects as accurately as possible. This is necessary, for example, to indicate the location of explosive ordnance or to monitor the movement of our deminers in real time under any environmental conditions. This system is extremely important to us in terms of increasing work efficiency and enhancing the safety of our deminers." The handover of equipment included a presentation of the system, during which the manufacturer demonstrated its key functions and advantages. After the theoretical part, NIBULON’s deminers tested the system; they put on the trackers and proceeded with simulated demining operations. ✅𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, since it is the start of the harvest season. "A day of harvesting feeds a year," our ancestors used to say. Continuing this tradition, modern agricultural producers must take care of a wide range of issues to ensure that their work remains profitable, after their products are sold. Our hero, Vitalii Lupynos, director of LEV agricultural firm LLC in Zaporizhzhia region, has no problem with choosing a partner for the sale of grain. For seven years, he has been working only with NIBULON. "Our farm is located in the village of Komyshuvakha (Zaporizhzhia district). This is a red zone; the frontline is only 20 km away. Danger has long been a part of our lives, but we are used to working in such conditions. Of course, we would like more understanding from the state and banking institutions, which have stopped lending to us due to high risks. But we hold on, hoping for a good harvest and a decent income." This year, as usual, the director plans to sell his products through Khortytsia river branch, located not far from the farm. Cooperation was stopped only once, in 2022, when the branch was not operational due to active hostilities nearby. This season, Vitalii will again transport his grain to NIBULON, which has already started a purchasing campaign. NIBULON appreciates and respects the hard work and efforts of every agricultural producer, maintaining price levels despite the lack of river navigation and the blocked Mykolaiv port hub, which increases logistics costs. International partners help to optimize the economics of grain transportation. In 2023, the USAID Economic Resilience Activity (ERA) bought fifty modern hopper wagons, each capable of transporting 70 tons of grain, for NIBULON. In 2024, it purchased thirteen grain trailers with a carrying capacity of 25.5 tons each. It is expected that each trailer will work up to 140,000 ton-kilometers per month, positively affecting the cost of grain transportation, as the cost of grain transportation using the company’s own vehicles is 20% lower than the services of external operators. According to Михайло Р., NIBULON's Director of Government Relations, the receipt of new grain trailers from USAID is another step towards reducing logistics costs and preserving 592 jobs at the river ports on the Dnipro and the Southern Buh, which have been blocked due to the Russian invasion. "Our blocked river ports pay taxes to fund budgets of the communities, particularly in the frontline zone. Last year alone, they paid about UAH 70 million in taxes to the budgets, of which 30 million went to local budgets, which is a significant support for the territories. On the other hand, our ports are critically important for those agricultural producers who do not have their own storage facilities. In 2023/24, 1,400 farmers used the services of the blocked river elevators," emphasized the speaker. #Feeding_the_world_together
