“When people are hungry, send in cooks. Not tomorrow, today.”
 – Chef José Andrés As a food and hospitality company, we believe that access to proper food, nutrition and decent hospitality should be a universal right—regardless of nationality or religion. This #worldhungerday, The Lo & Behold Group has donated $100,000 in aid of World Central Kitchen’s efforts on the frontlines of global hunger. We are lucky to have organisations like @wckitchen, who have dedicated their lives to providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises, especially in these unsettling times. World Central Kitchen has provided more than 260 million meals to families fleeing for safety in Ukraine, since their first meal more than two years ago. To date, they have also served over 35 million meals and opened more than 60 community kitchens across war-torn Gaza, and are planning to establish a maritime highway of boats and barges stocked with millions of meals continuously headed towards the area. In today’s climate, it has become increasingly important to combat the heartbreaking news around us with hope and action. If you have the means, and ache for the innocent lives at stake, we ask that you join us in supporting the good work by World Central Kitchen. Photos from World Central Kitchen

Around this time every year, we are reminded of how much we’ve been able to accomplish together in just a year—as a team, a community and as a city. Our city’s certainly grown a little more lovable this year, with so many new venues sprouting up across the island. The Coconut Club extends a warm welcome to Siglap with a second canteen. Le Bon Funk brightens up the Holland Village neighbourhood with a little good funk. Fico brings a taste of the Italian good life to sunny East Coast Park. We’ve been so proud of all our teams: The Coconut Club finding their place on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list, Esora retaining 1 Michelin star, and Odette blazing in at #14 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants with 3 Michelin stars. Our dearest Cheffe Pâtissière Louisa Lim is also Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2023, alongside Chef Julien Royer, who has been recognised with Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award this year. It goes without saying that none of this could have been possible without the support of our guests, partners and friends. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey, just as you have been to ours. From all of us at The Lo & Behold Group, have an enriching and wonderful new year.

It brings us great pride to share that The Lo & Behold Group has been certified once again as a “Great Place to Work”. It takes so much, from each and every one of us, to create a place that people are proud to call their own, especially within an industry as demanding as hospitality. Whether it’s a near-forgotten pandemic or a global talent crunch, the well-being and growth of our people will always remain at the heart of all that we do. At the end of the day, the credit goes out to our employees; thank you for keeping our one, simple dream—of making our city more lovable—alive. Over the last 30 years, Great Place To Work® Singapore has been surveying more than 100 million employees globally, helping organisations around the world develop trustful and effective workplace cultures in the process. We are honoured and grateful for this acknowledgement, and looking forward to seeing our industries grow more lovable in the years to come. "There's this amazing potential that comes when you combine interesting architecture and spaces with creative entrepreneurs." Thank you to The Straits Times for featuring some of our upcoming tenants for our latest development—including Beyond The Vines, Bjorn Shen, Morning, Odem, Fin Crafted Goods and The Trapeze Group (and more). This new creative cluster, coming Q2 2024 at 46 Kim Yam Road, will bring together our city’s best-in-class businesses and entrepreneurs—making space for people to learn, create, discover, forget, immerse, dissociate, play, practise and experiment. “46 Kim Yam Road, with its beautiful architectural bones, not only offers the opportunity to celebrate the amazing entrepreneurs here, but to tell a compelling Singapore story of creative progress.” A couple of weekends back, we unveiled a first-look at our latest development—a new creative cluster in Q2 2024 at 46 Kim Yam Road. We spoke to The Straits Times about conserving the original architecture and heritage of the building, creating one dedicated cluster to bring together the best-in-class creatives and entrepreneurs in Singapore—and how breathing a new lease of life into spaces like these ultimately adds to our landscape, making our city more lovable in the process. This is truly a project that has taken years and months of hard work, planning and collaborations to bring alive; none of this would have been possible without our team of partners, designers and specialists. We’re looking forward to share more updates at instagram.com/lobeholdnew
