Held on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, the initiative empowered 250 women from various communities with the essential training, skills, and resources needed to become successful nano-prenuers. Since its inception in 2019, the Plan W Programme has empowered a total of 1,400 women nationwide, fostering sustained economic growth and entrepreneurial success. At the event, our Corporate Relations Director, Rotimi Odusola, emphasized the initiative's broad reach and impact: “Guinness Nigeria recognizes that women are an important part of our community. We've empowered 1,400 women so far and encourage all beneficiaries to sustain their businesses and make the best of this opportunity.” The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Mrs. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, representing the Governor of Lagos State, commended our commitment to fostering economic prosperity through women empowerment: “By investing in women, you ensure that growth and prosperity are shared equitably. Empowerment is a catalyst for change.” In line with our commitment towards driving inclusion within our organization, across our value chain and within society 10% of the Plan W beneficiaries are People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs). The Program Manager for Nigeria Association of the Blind and representative of Sightsavers, Nigeria, Mrs Maria Kazeem, expressed gratitude: "We appreciate Guinness Nigeria for empowering women living with disabilities to achieve self-sufficiency." The event saw community stakeholders, including the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu, Deaconess Busola Elizabeth Isikalu, who urged continued support for Guinness Nigeria’s efforts at empowering women and contributing to Nigeria’s economic prosperity. By investing in women, we improve employability, raise living standards, and boost the country's GDP. Empowering Women, Transforming Communities: Guinness Nigeria’s Plan W Initiative   We are thrilled to announce the incredible success of Guinness Nigeria's Plan W initiative, which has recently empowered 250 female nanoproneurs in Oyo State! On May 24, 2024, we celebrated the conclusion of the Plan W training recap and asset handover ceremony in Ibadan, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and economic development.   Since its inception in 2019, Plan W has transformed the lives of 1,150 women across Nigeria, providing them with the skills, resources, and mentorship needed to thrive as business owners.   Plan W offers more than just training; it provides a holistic support system that includes comprehensive workshops, essential trade assets, seed capital, and ongoing mentorship to ensure sustainable business success. In partnership with Sightsavers Nigeria, 10% of the beneficiaries are People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), promoting a diverse and inclusive environment. By the second quarter of 2024, we aim to empower a total of 1,400 women, including 250 more in Lagos State. By 2027, we hope to double this impact, reaching more lives and creating lasting change across Nigeria.   Speaking at the ceremony, Adebayo Alli, Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria, highlighted the initiative's far-reaching impact and ambitious future goals. We were honored to have esteemed guests like Hon. Mrs. Toyin Balogun, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, and Hon. Muftau Olatunde Ogunremi, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State on SDGs, who praised our leadership in driving economic empowerment and social progress.   Plan W operates on a "Triple Win" principle, benefiting individuals, families, and the nation. By investing in women, we enhance employability, boost family incomes, and strengthen Nigeria's GDP while fostering sustainable business practices.   We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, supporters, and the inspiring women who are the heart of Plan W. Your determination and perseverance inspire us all! Join us in celebrating this milestone and supporting the ongoing journey of empowerment and inclusivity.   Together, we are shaping a brighter future, one empowered woman at a time.   #GuinnessNigeria #Society2030:SpiritOfProgress #Inclusion&Diversity #Skills4Life #PlanW #DrinkResponsibly

We are thrilled to announce a significant achievement in our ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure and socio-economic development in our host communities. On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, we commissioned Phase II of Guinness Way in the Oregbeni community, Benin, Edo State. This momentous event was graced by esteemed Edo State Government dignitaries, led by Hon. Isoken Omo, Commissioner for Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development, alongside community leaders and representatives from Guinness Nigeria. Guinness Way Phase II is a 500-meter asphalt road and major concrete drainage project, representing an investment of over N500 million. This road, part of a 1.1km stretch beside our brewery, is vital for Oregbeni residents, improving access to essential services and economic opportunities, and addressing severe erosion issues. This initiative is part of our broader sustainability strategy, which focuses on: Promoting Positive Drinking, Building Thriving Communities and Reducing Environmental Impact. Since 1997, we have supported Oregbeni through various initiatives, including the Water of Life Initiative, our Guinness Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme, and the renovation of Ogbeni Primary School. Our efforts continue to provide employment opportunities and foster community development. Our success is measured not just by financial targets, but by the positive impact we make on lives, communities, and the environment. This NGN500 million investment in Guinness Way underscores our unwavering commitment to sustainable progress through collaborative action. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. Together, we have showcased the true power of collaboration. Let’s continue to make a meaningful difference and celebrate life every day, everywhere! #GuinnessNigeria #SpiritofProgress #Sustainability #ICommunityImpact #Collaboration #CSR #CelebrateLife
