Unlocking capital to support Indonesia’s transition towards low-carbon and green hydrogen is crucial to its net zero transition roadmap. At the recent Indonesia International Hydrogen Summit (IIHS), Markus Kasim from MUFG’s Project Finance team spoke on the bank’s longstanding track record in this sector and the key bankability considerations for clean hydrogen and ammonia projects as the country accelerates the adoption of these energy sources. Amanpreet Singh, Managing Director, Deputy Head of ESG Finance for APAC, in a separate thought leadership event, reiterated the bank’s views on the region’s climate financing opportunities. The Leaders Roundtable on Opportunities in Green Financing served as a precursor to the annual Indonesia International Sustainability Forum in September, and MUFG’s participation further signals its commitment towards driving engagement towards the country’s decarbonisation goals.
