Project Director

Blackfield Associates is currently partnered with a world leading pharmaceutical manufacturer. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Director to join their team, in Northern France. This is on an initial 12-month contract. Applicants will need full French language proficiency.

Overseeing a €100m+ brownfield investment, the Project Director will be accountable for the successful delivery of the project. You will ensure the safe delivery of the engineered, procured, constructed and commissioning facility/equipment.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Ensures that all team members are aware of their responsibilities, have the facilities and support to undertake them and the authority to make decisions.
• Reviews and approves estimates and schedules, ensures these are aligned to the business objectives.
• Facilitates the risk management strategy including the Quantitative Risk Assessment, Risk Register and Contingency Management. Provides formal escalation where required.
• Ensures that design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification delivery strategies are executed in line with the project execution plan and with global engineering standards.
• Promotes a safe construction site, leads the safety culture & ensure this is imbedded through client and EPCM teams.
• Owns the contract with the EPCM & ensures proper management, change control and delivery to that contract.
• Co-ordination, scheduling and reporting of activities related to stakeholder management and, business change management including project communications as agreed with the Project Sponsor.
• Provides regular, progress and performance reports.

To be considered you will have previous experience as a Project Director, overseeing pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical investments over €100 million. Greenfield or Brownfield experience is acceptable for this. Previous pharma experience is a must.

This is a full-time onsite role.
