Job Description
For our laboratory based in Tournus (Burgundy) and specialized in the development of polymers, we are actively looking for a Chemist (M/F) with good experience in the synthesis of different types of polymers and/or in aqueous dispersions.

For our laboratory based in Tournus (Burgundy) and specialized in the development of polymers, we are actively looking for a Chemist (M/F) with good experience in the synthesis of different types of polymers and/or in aqueous dispersions.
Responsibilities
Main Tasks:
- Ability to perform laboratory work in a safe manner, to follow established laboratory safety and housekeeping procedures and processes
- Involve in Polymer design projects and carry out necessary laboratory work to meet project objectives and timelines
- Interact and communicate with internal product development teams and insure alignment between the Polymers team and Product Development Groups.
- Develop comprehensive conclusion reports and present findings of investigations to internal and external audiences.
- Maintain proper records and documentation to assure information can be used for IP protection through IDF’s and patent applications.
- Participate in the scale up process from laboratory through pilot scale
- Proficient in the principles of Design of Experiments and the ability to use statistical approaches to solve problems
Profile:
- A degree in Polymer Science or Organic Chemistry is required, preferably a Master degree.
- 5 years of industrial experience, preferably in the synthesis of solvent-based polymers and in aqueous dispersions or optionally in radiation-curable polymers,
- Good understanding of polymer chemistry (epoxy, polyester, alkyd, acrylic, polyurethane, etc.) and polymer structure-property relationships,
- Good time management skills with the ability to plan and complete work tasks independently,
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to work in an international team environment and recommend solutions,
- Fluency in French/English.
