Legal Counsel

Reports to: Head of Legal, Europe

Dotted line reporting to the Paris-based Team Lead

Location: Paris, France

Role Description:

Tata Consultancy Services has an exciting opportunity for a Paris-based Legal Counsel to join the Europe Legal team and support TCS business teams across a broad range of legal topics. Our new colleague will join a talented, innovative and diverse team of legal counsels and contract managers in Europe. The legal team in Paris primarily supports the business activities in France, with exposure to Italy, Portugal, and Spain. This role will have a focus on matters in the French geography. You will be mainly responsible for the negotiation and review of IT/outsourcing, digital and software contracts in the private and public sector. You will support contract reviews and negotiations during a competitive tender process and also in the context of existing customer engagements. The focus of the role will be on commercial contracting.

Key Skills and Role Requirements:

• Fully qualified French legal counsel. Ideally additional experience or qualification in Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese law.

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in the field of IT outsourcing, “digital” offerings, IP, software licensing and data privacy.

• Excellent communication and drafting skills in French and English language.

• Ability and mindset to work as a business partner and combine legal expertise with practical advice.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel within the company, clients, and vendors.

• Intercultural sensitivity and interest to work in a diverse environment.
