About The Role


We are hiring a Group Purchasing Manager to mange the Group Purchasing Team and coordinate actions with the functional organization (country teams) and to elaborate and implement top AAG supplier purchasing strategy. The scope of the role will be European wide and will play a central role in conducting Purchasing initiatives at Group level such as tenders, supplier negotiation preparation, simulation, net purchase price calculation. The role will report to the Director of Group Purchasing, Europe.


What You´ll Be Doing


  • Lead Strategic suppliers’ negotiation and Global Souring
  • Oversee Category management Group coordination
  • Supplier Group consolidation, Category Group Tenders
  • Transformation of Group Procurement activity
  • Manage the European Purchasing Team and functional local country category management teams.
  • Act as the European representative and to be part of the GPC Global Procurement Team
  • Coordinate Purchasing European Projects
  • Negotiate better purchase conditions for the Group and drive supplier consolidation strategy.
  • Define and report Group purchasing activities accordingly (supplier dashboards, minutes reports.
  • Negotiate with suppliers’ improvement on terms and conditions
  • Coordinate internal resources (country Purchasing teams, supply chain, finance dpt.) for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects and initiatives at European level (Tender, sourcing, consolidation, price alignment…) are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Manage the relationship with the internal stakeholders (mainly local Purchasing organizations in country and GPC Global organization)


What You´ll Need


  • Bachelor's degree in business, Project management, category management, preferably in the fields of automotive purchasing.
  • Significant negotiation experience with international suppliers required. At least five (5) years purchasing/strategic sourcing experience
  • Experience with Private Label Product Management would be advantageous.
  • Proven working experience as a project manager/product manager/or purchasing department
  • Technical background, with understanding of aftermarket business
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Sound knowledge of purchasing methodology and purchasing techniques
  • Sound knowledge of category sourcing approach
  • Capacity to build trustful relationship in all levels of the organisation.
  • Languages: Excellent English, other European languages will be a strong asset
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Cross functional teamwork experience
  • Ability to lead projects and to report accordingly.
  • Ability to work in a team and lead/motivate a team.
  • Dynamic, highly energetic individual, motivated to achieve success.
  • Must have excellent presentation and communication skills.
