𝐋𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲 La Mar Solidaria Day is a non-profit event in Spain aimed at practicing and enjoying various sports disciplines and the aquatic environment, including Adapted Diving Baptisms, Rowing and Canoeing, and Dinghy Sailing. Year after year, Aqualung Iberia has supported this event, promoting the integration of individuals with functional diversity. Aqualung is proud to have been part of this wonderful initiative, providing materials for baptisms, snorkel sets as prizes to the winners of the swimming race, and a tent. Our ambassador, Estibaliz Parras, also offered her help as a diving instructor. ¡Felicidades to all the participants and the event organizers, to professional athletes and a multitude of volunteers on June 1st in Alicante. Since their creation, their incredible teams and local communities have restored over 750 square meters of coral reef (more than 70,000 corals) in Indonesia, resulting in a 26-fold increase in fish population in the area! This remarkable journey continues with the opening of a new coral restoration site on Sabolo Island, in the same archipelago as Hatamin Island. The project has recently emphasized awareness-raising, particularly through activities for local children. Additionally, an eco-tourism initiative has been launched to engage and educate tourists about the importance of protecting coral reefs. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Currently, 75% of volcanic activity occurs below the ocean's surface, and science has limited data on these phenomena. From the north of Sicily to the Bay of Naples, a Gombessa scientific expedition led by our ambassador, Laurent Ballesta, participated in a study on volcanoes, exploring sites over 100 meters below the surface. From the submarine volcano valley of Panarea to the underwater gardens of Stromboli and the black hole of Vesuvius, this scientific adventure, initiated by Italian volcanologists Francesco Italiano and Roberto Rinaldi, has gathered valuable data that will fuel Mediterranean volcanologists' research for years to come.   We are delighted to share these incredible pictures from Laurent Ballesta. Rafa is not only an ambassador for the Aqualung brand but also strives to be an ambassador for the ocean. He works tirelessly to highlight both the beauties and dangers of the sea. Jacques-Yves Cousteau remained 30 years as head of Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum, during which he alerted the public to the fragility of the marine environment.
