Meet Christoph P. Wessendorf, Country Manager Germany at Job&Talent. In 3 questions, Christoph shares his unique insights into the challenges and opportunities of the German market, and what the future holds.
🚀 What unique challenges and opportunities do you see in the German market?
In recent years, we’ve seen particular challenges in Germany due to macroeconomic conditions causing changes in supply and demand. Companies have been more careful with spending, which can impact workforce planning. At the same time, we’ve seen difficulties in recruiting the required candidates, particularly skilled workers. To meet these challenges, we continue to prioritize unwavering client focus and candidate-centric recruitment. Our team in Germany excels at this by leveraging strong personal relationships and efficient digital processes throughout the candidate journey. The good news is, we’re already seeing an uptick in demand and an easing in the candidate market!
🔁 How do you see the industry evolving in the coming years?
I believe the current challenges will persist in some way, which will require effective and efficient processes. Speed and cost-effectiveness are crucial in turbulent times. Digital innovation will be key, but maintaining a personal touch in our daily work will remain essential. Building strong personal relationships with clients, candidates, and workers will continue to be at the heart of what we do. Additionally, we’re continuously improving our processes and leveraging the expertise of the Job&Talent group in order to ensure we deliver excellence.
👨💻 How can technology make the lives of job seekers and companies easier?
By leveraging technology we can be faster in responding to client requests, more reliable in operations, and capable of delivering unparalleled service. Achieving this means candidates can be quickly recruited and assigned to new jobs with minimal delay. This efficiency is a huge advantage for job seekers, reducing the time spent in recruitment and interviews, ultimately benefiting our clients as well.
Companies need reliable workforce planning and management, ensuring they work with motivated people, experience low attrition, and can reliably plan their operations. Providing high transparency on the workforce and effective interaction methods will increase our value to companies. Therefore, our technology is crucial for achieving these goals and making a significant impact in Germany.
