Major projects don't need to have major impacts. From the start, our priority has been to ensure the construction of the Woodfibre LNG facility has as little impact on Squamish as possible and the floatel does just that. A converted cruise ship, the floatel will be moored at the Woodfibre LNG project site and offer a premium live-work environment for non-local workers outside of the community, while minimizing any added pressure on local housing, infrastructure and services in Squamish. Woodfibre LNG is collaborating with the Squamish Nation Training and Trades Centre and the BCIT to offer an Operator Training Program for Squamish Nation members.
