This past weekend, we kickstarted a series of Staples Kids Learn + Play events at select Staples stores to celebrate the expansion of this play-based learning concept throughout the country. We marked the occasion with fun activities, like free ice cream, balloon art, hands-on #StaplesSpotlight events, face painting and more. Since the introduction of Staples Kids last year, we have successfully grown to more than 100 locations to help enhance play-based learning and foster kids' growth through a curated collection of tools and toys. We couldn't be more excited to bring this concept to a Staples store near you.   We invite you and your family to join us at the next Staples Kids Learn + Play event. Check out our Facebook events page to find an event near you: https://lnkd.in/gwYfppdi

At Staples, we know that our associates are the heartbeat of our organization. We were proud to celebrate them as we came together for our annual Summer #AssociateAppreciation events! With activities happening throughout the months of June and July, teams across the country joined in the fun to recognize the dedication and commitment of our associates in always going above and beyond for our customers. From ice cream trucks to team barbecues, growth and development career sessions, and more – the events were a great way to celebrate the power of Staples community coming together to celebrate as #OneTeam.

As our associates participated in #PrideMonth events throughout June, we were thrilled to welcome Toronto Drag Queen Bebe Brunjes at our Richmond Hill office. Our fabulous host of an unforgettable afternoon of laughter and learning, wrapping up celebrations with fun and challenging Pride-themed trivia, both in-person and broadcast virtually for associates across Canada! Drag is more than just glitter, sequins, and wigs – it’s a powerful form of self-expression, artistry and resilience. Drag queens and kings have been at the forefront of 2SLGBTQI+ visibility, and by embracing their authentic selves, they inspire others to do the same. Hosted by the Pride @ Staples Business Resource Group (BRG), this inclusive event brought together our associates from across the country to learn more about the history of Pride in Canada - and around the world - to educate and expand our knowledge about all members who make up this vibrant community. At Staples, we believe that diversity is our strength and Pride @ Staples is one of several BRGs associates can join to contribute to creating a culture of belonging. It provides support, education and networking to our 2SLGBTQI+ community and allies. The group’s mission is to create an inclusive environment that recognizes and celebrates the 2SLGBTQI+ community, where all associates belong and have a safe space to be their authentic selves. As part of our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Staples, we’re proud to offer BRGs focused on support for equity-deserving communities. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gJPB2_pM

At Staples Canada, we inspire our associates to work smarter, learn more and grow every day. We are a workplace that appreciates our team's passion and curiosity, celebrates their bright ideas, and values their unique experience. Jagraj Kalsi, a Fulfilment Centre Associate had the opportunity to showcase his talent through a passion project at the Staples head office: "My supervisor asked about my hobbies and other interests during a development conversation, which indicated a great cultural practice, in hindsight. I have an Arts background and expressed my desire to continue pursuing this interest. That was all it took. My supervisor made it possible for me to create my first ‘wall art’ for one of the Staples’ facilities and then I went on to create similar works for three more Staples’ facilities. In the true spirit of the Staples mantra #BringYourPassion, I was able to use my artistic flair and passion for painting, to give back to my organization in a pretty unique way, in addition to my day job. As a bonus, I was recognized for my contribution and featured in our company newsletter. Through this experience I witnessed our Staples values brought to life – We Care and We Are One Team! We frequently hear phrases at Staples such as ‘Learn & Grow’ or ‘Make an Impact’. Not only did I draw a variety of lessons from this experience (like grasping the opportunity, the power of listening, etc.), but I also feel that I was able to make an impact by utilizing the skills at my disposal and adding value to my workplace. Glad to be a part of the Staples team". Interested in a career at Staples? Learn more at careers.staples.ca #BringYourPassion #WorkLearnGrow #MakeAnImpact

Today marks National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time for us to recognize, honour, and celebrate the rich and diverse histories, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. For generations, many Indigenous groups and communities have celebrated their culture and heritage on June 21 or around that time of year because of the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year. Today and every day, we encourage our associates to educate themselves and engage in conversations that promote cultural understanding, inclusion, and reconciliation. As an organization, we are focused on building respectful and collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations. Building off our core Staples for Community pillars of Equity and the Environment, since 2008, Staples Canada has proudly worked with Tree Canada / Arbres Canada to support the greening of underserved Indigenous communities across the country. This initiative helps bring back natural spaces and gives everyone the opportunity to thrive.
