Alpina, from the Mentawai Islands, used to walk over 1.5km for water, complicating daily tasks like cooking and bathing her children. SurfAid installed clean water systems, including rainwater tanks, in 48 homes, improving life for families including Alpina’s. She expressed her relief: “Having clean water right next to our house has significantly changed our lives. I no longer have to walk far with my children.” 💧 You heard it from Alpina: Better outcomes for families can be achieved when basic services like clean water are available.
