Small acts, big impact. Every gesture of kindness can bring big positive change. We recently cooked up a storm at our Canberra and Melbourne offices to raise money for our partner, Bravery Trust, a national military charity which provides current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force with financial aid, education and counselling. Did you know you don’t need aviation experience to fly with us? Hear from Alex, who learnt everything he needed to know about conducting airborne special missions when he joined us. Leidos is the largest employer of mission aircrew outside the Australian Defence Force and our aircrew come to us from diverse industry backgrounds. Our sophisticated aircrew training system enables us to train people with little to no aviation experience. When it comes to saving lives and protecting national interests, our highly proficient aircrew play an integral role. What more fitting time to share the story of this distinctively marked Challenger aircraft than during NAIDOC Week! This artwork was created by Torres Strait Island artist Michael Nona specifically for this search and rescue aircraft. If you spot one of these aircraft in the air, it will usually be enroute to a search and rescue event somewhere in Australia’s vast SAR region! Michael's artwork features a shark known as Baydham in Kala Lagaw Ya language, an important symbol in the Torres Strait region. Known as the protector of the reef, sharks play an important role in maintaining balance in the seas. We are always proud to be involved in this flying tribute to Torres Strait Islander culture, even more so during NAIDOC Week, where we can celebrate, recognise and share the story and the artist that is behind it. #NAIDOC2024 #leidosaustralia #airbornesolutions

Wheels up on another mission! ✈️ Did you know our crew operate in remote areas of the open ocean, well outside of normal Air Traffic Control services and the normal support network that Airline and Charter operators can expect. Surveillance operations cover a wide area and are of long duration, and they are often impacted by a dynamic weather environment. This is challenging and rewarding work where you get to work together with a mission-focused team and make a difference. As we celebrate NAIDOC Week, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ngunnawal Elder Serena Williams for her special presentation at our Canberra office today. You have deeply enriched our understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. NAIDOC Week (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) is a significant time for all Australians to come together and celebrate the diverse cultures and achievements of Indigenous peoples. This year's theme, "Blak, Loud and Proud," celebrates the unyielding spirit of the First Nations communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced. Let's come together to celebrate and respect the rich tapestry of Indigenous cultures and work towards a more inclusive and respectful future. #LeidosAustralia #NAIDOC2024 #Inclusion #Diversity #Respect

The partnership we have forged with industry-leading aviation educator RMIT University is not only providing specialised training for the next generation of pilots, but also introducing them to different flying career opportunities. We couldn’t be prouder of these exceptional students. #flywithpassion #flywithpurpose #pilottraining #airbornesolutions #aerialsurveillance #searchandrescue #aviationjobs
Five RMIT aviation students have become the first recipients of a new Leidos scholarship. Amber Kennett (pictured), Ashwini Fredrick, Kynan Munday, and India Wallace, as well as one other student who requested not to be named, will receive additional training in specialised piloting skills including search and rescue. https://bit.ly/3W8A48P

It was great to see so many Leidos team members at our Young Professionals Advocacy Group/Pride+ mixers! Seeing colleagues connecting with one another so positively reinforces the importance of fostering a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Thank-you to all who attended and contributed to making the events the success they were. Let's continue to support and uplift each other every day. #Leidosaustralia #diversityandinclusion
